Minecraft’s world is generated randomly, based on a series of “seeds” that populate the world with the necessary details to make up any Minecraft environment. It’s an almost unlimited game world based on algorithms that’ll make your mind explode if you try to think too hard about how the coders made it work. By default, the game grabs the current system time as the basic input for the starting values of a world and runs with that, but thankfully, seeds can be influenced and copied and pasted into Minecraft’s underlying code, allowing players to share the core worlds they play in.
A Minecraft modding group today released the trailer for its School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a map that recreates many of the main locations from the Harry Potter series, including, as the name. This seed is rather interesting. For starters, the placement of the mansion is great as it’s completely surrounded right in a middle of a forest. Then there’s the dungeon located right under a ruined portal and to top it off, there’s villages that are located right across each other that’s separated by the ocean.

Are you planning to play Minecraft with some friends? This is a seed you may like as right at spawn, the map is divided into pieces with six river streams. It essentially gives players their own landmass while also looking incredible unique. There’s even a village on one of the landmasses but I imagine you could make some great unique map designs based around the six river setup.

If you like to speed run Minecraft seeds to see how fast you can get through the game, missions or just areas in general, then check out this seed. It’s awesome to see just how fast you can reach the Nether in just about 25 seconds. YouTuber ibxtoycat managed to showcase this seed and it’s well worth sharing. Just nearby spawn, you can come across a Nether portal that’s can be completed immediately and from there you have access to the Nether. Furthermore, the Nether Fortress is also incredibly close which you can find at -147,-276.

If you like survival island seeds then you will love this one. You’ll get spawned on a rather large island which has plenty of resources to work with including lava. However, what makes this island seen a bit more unique is that there is the ability to go under the island and reach an air pocket with a cavern. Where you’ll find a mob spawner along with some additional resources. Really, this seed is great for both newcomers to survival island or if you simply enjoy playing on survival islands. A lot of seeds can be found based around the incredible randomized map creations. We’ve certainly seen a ton of different unique maps to explore, but here’s one worth exploring and building on. In this seed, you’ll find a village that was built all around a massive ravine. The building looks to be abandoned as well so it could give players a bit of a working area to get creative. If you’re after a seed with something a bit more rare then check out this map. With this seed, players can venture to a desert temple which is a bit far from spawn. However, what makes this temple rare is that inside there’s a skeleton spawner that generated connecting to the temple. Source for this seed can be found here.

This seed spawns players pretty much right near the main attraction and that’s an abandoned village. It’s a rather large village with an assortment of goods like livestock and you can even make it a goal to turn things around with the village so it’s not abandoned. However, the coolest part of this seed is that right next to the village is a big ravine that not only has some good resources exposed but also a visible mine shaft. Back in 1997 nobody knew that a book about a small wizard would spawn such a beloved franchise. Yet since the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone the franchise has gone on leaps and bounds and when it comes to the Harry Potter universe there’s just so much to see.
Over the years a huge amount of places have been described and shown through the various mediums that the franchise has been immortalised in. In the world of video games there have been many great appearances by Harry and his friends but now there is a way to explore the best sections of the universe in a slightly different way. Minecraft.
A small group of dedicated fans, calling themselves The Floo Network, have built the best bits of the Harry Potter universe in Minecraft. The project has taken several years to get to where it is and it looks so fantastic that even Voldermort would find it impossible not to smile at it. What’s even better is it’s available for absolutely free!

The project, imaginatively called Harry Potter in Minecraft, includes all of the iconic locations Harry Potter fans would want see. Obviously the likes of Hogwarts and Diagon Alley make an appearance but there’s also places such as Hogsmeade and Gringott’s Bank. No detail has been spared, with the Hogwarts Qudditich pitch having its flags and Privet Drive even having Dursley written outside of the Dursley’s house. Real life locations aren’t excluded either, with numerous places that appeared in the Harry Potter universe making an appearance, such as London King’s Cross railway station.
You’ll be able to travel to all of these locations by using apparition and, of course, the floo network. A hub world allows you to find a range of fireplaces that will transport to wherever you want to go instantly. When you’re there you can stroll about as your leisure and interact with a huge amount of things. There is a catch to this fantastic sounding mod though. If you are looking to play this on console or the pocket edition you will unfortunately not be able to. It only works on Java Minecraft version 1.12 or newer.
